What are vanilla talents?
Talents are the character-building system Vanilla WoW shipped with in 2004 and patch 1.12 still runs: three trees per class, one point per level from 10 to 60, and choices that shape how a character plays far more than gear does at this era’s level cap.
FAQ
- What are talents in vanilla WoW 1.12?
- Every class has three talent trees. Starting at level 10 you gain one talent point per level, up to 51 points at level 60, which you spend on passive and active bonuses split across the three trees for your class.
- How do talent trees work?
- Each tree has rows of talents. Spending 5 points anywhere in a tree unlocks its next row. Some talents also require a specific rank in an earlier talent before you can put points into them.
- Can I respec my talents?
- In patch 1.12 you can reset your talents at a class trainer for a gold cost that rises with each reset. This calculator is a planning tool — it does not talk to your character, it just lets you try out a build before spending real gold.
