A Vanilla WoW server with no shop and no pay-to-win

Most 'free' WoW private servers sell power: gold, levels, gear, boosts dressed up as donations. Stonetavern doesn't. We are a free, non-commercial server that sells nothing — there is literally nothing to buy. Gifts keep the lights on; they buy no advantage.

Why no-money is the whole point

The moment a server sells advantage, the world bends around the wallet. Economies inflate, the playing field tilts, and 'free' becomes a funnel. We removed the temptation entirely: no shop, nothing sold, no supporter tiers. Nobody can buy their way past you.

How we keep the lights on without your money

Stonetavern is a small non-commercial project run for the love of Vanilla, not profit. The realm costs a little to run each month; the team carries that, and players who want to can chip in toward those running costs as a gift — never for anything in-game. That independence is exactly what lets us refuse monetisation — we answer to players, not to a revenue chart.

What 'earned' looks like

Every level, every piece of gear, every gold coin on Stonetavern came from playing. That makes a full clear mean something, a rare drop feel rare, and a reputation actually be reputation. It's the Vanilla social contract, restored.

Questions

Is there any cash shop at all?
No. Nothing is for sale — no gold, gear, levels, cosmetics or perks.
Can I donate to support the server?
Only toward the server's running costs, never for anything in-game — a gift buys you no rank, item or advantage of any kind. It just helps keep the lights on.
Are there 'supporter' or VIP perks?
None. Every player has identical access and identical advantages — all earned.
How is it funded then?
By the small team that runs it for the love of Vanilla, helped by voluntary gifts toward the running costs. Nothing is sold, and no gift buys an in-game advantage.
